Moroccan kefta: delicious recipe you really can’t miss!

The Moroccan gastronomy gives special attention to legumes and vegetables, but there are authentic Moroccan dishes where meat is the main protagonist. Kefta is one of these recipes. In this post we tell you how to prepare it at home in a very simple and delicious way.

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef (you can also prepare it with chicken or lamb, or a combination of the two)

1 teaspoon of black pepper and cumin

1 teaspoon of sweet paprika, ginger and cinnamon

½ teaspoon of spicy paprika

1 chopped onion in very small dice

2 cloves of garlic, chopped into very small dice

1/4 cup fresh cilantro or parsley (chopped)

Steps to Make It

Chop the meat with a grinder or buy it already chopped so it will be much faster to prepare the dish. The second step is to add all the spices, the onion and the garlic to a large mixing bowl and mix it with the minced meat. The key to success lies in mixing all the ingredients very well so that all the meat is impregnated with flavor. You can mix it with a ladle, but if you want to feel like a true Moroccan chef, you should knead the mixture with your hands. The kefta is then ready to shape and cook.

As easy is it to prepare the meat, it seems even more simple to shape it. To make kebabs, take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into cylinders or sausage shapes. To get an authentic taste of the Kefta the ideal is to prepare the meat on the grill, although if you have little time, it will also be delicious simply cooked over hot coals.

Add a personal touch to the dich!

Kefta is already a pretty tasty meal by itself, but you can accompany it with grilled vegetables, or even with some spicy yogurt sauce. In Morocco, depending on the area where they prepare it, it will be accompany with one or the other, and the spices that are added to the meat may also differ.
